Emirates’ Dubai-Heathrow route achieves $819m revenues in 11M

Dubai - Mubasher: Emirates’ route between Dubai and London's Heathrow has generated more than $819 million in revenues during the period between April 2017 and March 2018, according to a report released by OAG Aviation.

The provider of air travel data said that the Dubai state-owned carrier’s route has been ranked the world's third best for generating revenue.

The report added that Qantas’ destination between Melbourne and Sydney ranked second with a revenue of $854 million.

The route between New York’s JFK and London came in first after posting more than $1 billion in revenues. Emirates' route revenues stand at $25,000 per hour, registering the largest rate globally.

In June, Virgin Atlantic had withdrawn from the same route, adding that “flying between Dubai and London was no longer economically viable due to a combination of factors,” according to Arabian Business.
