Emirates, Etihad to extend salary cuts for 3M

UAE - Mubasher: Emirates Airline and Etihad Airways will continue cutting their staff salaries until September to save their cash position amid the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, according to Reuters.

On Sunday, Emirates repeatedly informed its employees that the company will extend the salary reduction until September, and will increase pay cuts for some employees.

The company, which previously reduced basic wages by 25% to 50% for three months from April, remarked that some basic salaries will be decreased by 50%.

Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi's Etihad Airways will continue the salary reduction of between 25% to 50% to September.

It is noteworthy to mention that Emirates Airline and Etihad Airways have laid off employees due to the economic repercussions of COVID-19, which led to the suspension of flights around the world.
