Dubai – Mubasher: Emirates airline’s employment policy has not changed and has no intention to lay off its workforce, a company spokesperson stated.
The spokesperson said that the Emirati carrier constantly reviews all operations to assure optimum practices, including department structures and roles, stating that the policies are no different from previous years.
“Recruitment has slowed down as we streamline our operations, introduce new technologies, and find ways to better deploy existing resources internally," the spokesperson said.
On the other hand, he declared that the airline will carry out procedures to cut flights to Angola due to the difficulty of repatriating revenue.
"This issue has remained unsolved, despite numerous requests to the competent authorities and guarantees that measures would be taken," Emirates said.
On Tuesday, the head of Emirates airline Timothy Clark revealed that the weekly flights to Rwanda have been decreased from three to five flights, which harmed Angola’s crude oil market.
By the beginning of July 2017, the company indefinitely halted all flights to Qatar due to the diplomatic rift in the region.
