Dubai – Mubasher: Emirates on Sunday announced that it has launched its special one-off A380 flight Dubai-Islamabad from Dubai this morning.
The double-decker jet will make its inaugural arrival in Islamabad on a special flight EK2524/EK2525, with celebrities, officials and journalists on board, the Dubai government-owned carrier said in a statement.
The aircraft's service deployment will be in a two-class configuration offering business and economy class seats, the world’s largest airline by international passengers noted.
Hamad Al Zaabi, the UAE's ambassador to Pakistan, said that this is a historic moment for both the UAE and Pakistan aviation.
“We are looking forward to making it a daily flight as negotiations are already going on with concerned authorities in Pakistan,” Al Zaabi commented.
As for entertainment, Emirates said that the onboard ICE entertainment system included more than 420 new TV episodes.
“While this is a special flight, we are very keen to launch a scheduled A380 service to Pakistan and will continue to work with authorities to realise these plans,” Sheikh Majid Al Mualla, divisional senior vice president Commercial Operations Centre, Emirates, said.
