Emirates opens $4.5m lounge in Italian airport

Dubai – Mubasher: Emirates, the world’s largest airline by international passengers, has invested around $4.5 million in launching a new lounge for its first and business class passengers from Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport.

The new lounge enables the Dubai government-owned carrier’s travellers to enjoy greater levels of comfort and convenience.

Covering an area of 950 square metres, the lounge was officially opened on Thursday, 20 December in Terminal 3, Level 2, close to gates E22-E24.

Commenting on the opening, Mohammed Mattar, Emirates’ divisional senior vice president of Airport Services, said, “The new Rome airport lounge brings to 42 the number of Emirates’ lounges, making it one of the largest airline networks of lounges across the world, and we’ll continue to open new ones and refurbish others.”

Travellers will also enjoy an extensive complimentary hot and cold buffet, including Italian and Roman specialities, seasonal options, and a selection of international wines and beverages.

It is worth noting that Emirates has launched other lounges at Auckland, Bangkok, Beijing, Birmingham, Boston, Brisbane, Cairo, Cape Town, Colombo, Delhi, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Glasgow, Hamburg, Hong Kong, and Istanbul among others with total investments of $350 million.
