Dubai – Mubasher: Emirates’ profits for the fiscal year ended March 2018 are good, chairman of the Dubai-based airline Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum said on Wednesday.
Profits stood at AED 2.5 billion, while revenues reached AED 94.7 billion, which is better as compared with the prior fiscal year, Al Maktoum who doubles as chairman of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority indicated.
The UAE carrier's operations in the US market are based on supply and demand and it has nothing to do with open skies agreements, he said on the sidelines of the General Electric Aviation Centre’s inauguration in Dubai South on Tuesday.
Talks over open skies will be always maintained between both sides, he pointed out, adding that the Emirati carrier enjoys great transparency, and is ready for discussion and has nothing to hide.
Emirates has hired some banks to manage $1.1 billion sukuk issuance in order to support the group’s plans and operations, Al Maktoum noted.
