Emirati banks’, OFCs’ accounts at C. bank rise in February

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Banks’ and other financial corporations’ (OFCs) accounts at the UAE’s central bank soared 31.8% in February, registering AED 27.8 billion, compared to AED 21.1 billion in January.

Reserve requirements also grew 1.7% to AED 123.5 billion in the second month of 2018 versus AED 121.4 billion a month earlier, the central bank’s data showed.

Currency issued increased by AED 1 billion, recording AED 84.2 billion in February versus AED 83.2 billion in the first month of 2018.

Currency in circulation outside Emirati banks rose 2.5% month-on-month to AED 70 billion in February.
