Dubai – Mubasher: Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower) said that it had provided 40 buildings with its district cooling services in the first six months of this year with a total connected load of 52,000 refrigeration tonnes (RT).
The UAE-based firm also signed 25 agreements with a number of suppliers and contractors to establish district cooling networks and plants in different areas in Dubai. Empower is currently operates 73 facilities in the emirate.
In the first quarter of 2018, statistics of the company’s projects, agreements and contracts “reflect the awareness of owners and developers of the importance of energy-saving and environmentally friendly district cooling systems. District cooling systems have become an integral part of the planning and design of modern buildings in Dubai,” Empower’s CEO Ahmad bin Shafar stated.
The largest international district cooling services provider is planning to inject further investment and add more buildings and customers to its portfolio in a bid to track with its robust strategy, bin Shafar added.
During 2017, Empower started its business by supplying two buildings with district cooling services, bringing them to 1,000 by the end of previous year.
