Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower) on Sunday revealed that it has awarded an AED 169 million contract for the establishment of a cooling plant in Barsha Heights.
Generating 31,250 refrigeration tonnes, the project aims at replacing three semi-permanent stations in Barsha Heights with a permanent cooling plant, according to the company’s statement.
It will also use award-winning TSE and Thermal Energy Storage (TES) technologies, in addition to treated water, the Middle East's largest district cooling provider said.
Set to be built within 56 weeks, the plant is designed in accordance with the gloval state-of-the-art standards, the statement added.
Construction works will take place on two phases, and the plant is expected to be completed in December 2019.
