Energy, banks weigh on ADX Tuesday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The benchmark index of the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) went down 0.54% or 24.16 points to reach 4,460.30 points on Tuesday.

The energy segment led decliners with 2.05%, dragged by Dana Gas and TAQA which lost 2.13% and 1.79%, respectively.

The banks segment fell by 0.73% in line with the decline in Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) and the National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) by 1.64% and 0.9%, respectively.

On the other hand, the real estate sector rose 0.97%, followed by the industrial sector by 0.06%.

Ooredoo led decliners with 10%, while Arkan Building Materials led gainers with 2.9%.

The market’s turnover decreased to AED 127.4 million on Tuesday, from AED 213.53 million on Monday.

Meanwhile trading volume shrank to 62.24 million shares from 182.86 million.

Aldar Properties, which rose 1.8%, was the value leader after generating AED 31.57 million from exchanging 70.99 million shares.
