Energy, real estate drag down ADX Wednesday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange’s (ADX) general index lost 5.99 points, or 0.12%, to close at 5014.53 points on Wednesday, weighed down by the energy and real estate sectors.

The ADX’s trading volume reached 26.52 million shares exchanged through 852 transactions at a turnover of AED 131.538 million.

The energy sector shed 0.58% after Dana Gas fell 0.86%.

The real Estate plunged 0.56% as Aldar Properties dropped 0.58%.

The banks sector also dipped 0.18% as the stocks of First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) and Abu Dhabi Islamic (DIB) lost 0.27% each.

On the other hand, the telecommunication sector and its only stock, Emirates Telecommunications Group (Etisalat), gained 0.24%, each.

FAB’s stock posted the highest traded value with 5.36 AED 79.63 million, after 5.36 million shares were exchanged.
