Energy, real estate stocks drag down ADX Tuesday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) closed Tuesday’s trading session in the red, pressured by the fall of the real estate and energy sectors.

The general index decreased by 16.82 points, or 0.35%, closing the mid-week session at 4,800.70 points.

The ADX’s trading volume reached 30.76 million shares exchanged with a turnover of AED 47.58 million through 710 transactions.

The energy sector topped the losers falling 2.14% as Dana Gas and Abu Dhabi National Energy (Taqa) went down 3.08% and 0.65%, respectively.

Similarly, the real estate sector levelled down 1.69% as Eshraq Properties and Aldar Properties fell 5.81% and 1.32%, respectively, while the telecommunication sector and its sole stock Etisalat plunged 0.82%, each.

On the other hand, the investment sector headed the gainers adding 2.79% as Waha Capital rose 3.03%.
