Energy, real estate stocks weigh on ADX at Tuesday’s close

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) closed Tuesday’s trading session in negative territory, pressured by the energy and real estate sectors.

The general index decreased by 7.24 points, or 0.15%, closing the mid-week session at 4,927.05 points.

The ADX’s trading volume reached 20.63 million shares exchanged with a turnover of AED 66.65 million through 1,080 transactions.

The energy sector topped losers falling 1.75% as Abu Dhabi National Energy (Taqa) and Dana Gas fell 9.17% and 1.04%, respectively.

Similarly, the real estate sector went down 1.61% after Aldar Properties dropped 1.85%, while the consumer staples sector levelled down 3.28% as Agthia Group decreased by 4.76%.

Meanwhile, the banks sector headed gainers with 0.06% as First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) rose 1.24% and 0.12%, respectively.
