Energy, telecom drive ADX up Wednesday

Abu Dhabi - Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) ended Wednesday’s trading session up, amid mixed trading activities.

The general index grew 0.83% or 37.32 points to reach 4,531.63 points.

Trading volume reached 67.44 million shares against 61.42 million on Tuesday. Meanwhile, turnover amounted to AED 117.84 million, compared to AED 152.36 million in the previous session.

Most of sectors witnessed an increase, led by energy gaining 1.38% as TAQA rose 5.66%.

The telecom sector went up 1.15%, supported by Etisalat, which saw a similar increase.

The banking sector climbed 0.9% as Union National Bank (UNB) increased by 6.5%.

The National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) recorded the highest liquidity with AED 29.3 million, while Dana Gas led in terms of trading volume with 15.77 million shares.
