Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) opened in the red due to a decline in the energy and real estate sectors.
The general index fell 0.46% or 19.7 points to reach 4,251.89 points by 11:40am UAE time.
The UAE markets are expected to see a negative performance in the short-term, amid the absence of catalysts and a state of anxiety that is controlling investors.
The energy sector declined 3.1% as Dana Gas slid 4% to AED 1.2.
The real estate sector retreated 1.6% after Aldar Properties fell 1.74%.
On the flipside, the insurance sector was the only gainer after rising 0.07%.
Turnover reached AED 23.23 million after 17.3 million shares were traded through 192 transactions.
