Riyadh – Mubasher: Rabigh Refining and Petrochemical (Petro Rabigh) said that there was a sudden disruption in the electricity and steam supplies to the company’s subsidiary Rabigh Arabian Water and Electricity Company (RAWEC), resulting in a halt in the company’s labs.
The disruption occurred on Wednesday, 18 May at approximately 9:24pm KSA time, the refinery said in a filing to the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) on Thursday.
Teams in Petro Rabigh and RAWEC succeeded in restoring power and are currently working on the gradual reoperation of halted units.
The company is also conducting estimates for the financial impact of the power disruption.
