Cairo – Mubasher: Italian energy company Eni on Tuesday announced that it started production from South West Meleiha Development Lease, located in the Egyptian Western Desert.
Delivered through two oil producer wells, the production amounts to 5.000 barrel of oil per day (bpd) and is expected to reach 7.000 bpd within September 2019, Eni said in a statement.
The produced oil is transported and treated at the Meleiha Plant facilities operated by AGIBA, a joint venture between IEOC and the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC).
Eni holds a 50% interest in South West Meleiha through its subsidiary, IEOC, while EGPC holds the remaining 50%.
