Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt, Sudan, and Ethiopia have agreed on completing the technical studies in regard of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam within a month, state news agency MENA reported on Monday, citing Egypt’s foreign minister Sameh Shoukry.
This came on the sidelines of a tripartite summit between Egypt, Sudan, and Ethiopia in Addis Ababa.
Shoukry added that mediators have no role in these studies at the moment.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi had previously said that citizens of Egypt, Sudan, and Ethiopia would not be harmed regarding the water issue.
On 26 December 2017, Egypt’s foreign ministry had suggested that the World Bank would participate as an unbiased party in the tripartite regarding the dam.
