Etihad Airways appoints new CEO

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Etihad Aviation Group on Thursday announced the appointment of Tony Douglas as Group chief executive officer (CEO), who will join the company as of January 2018.

“We are delighted to have Tony return to Abu Dhabi to lead Etihad. He has guided the transformation of large organisations in the UAE and the UK,” said Mohamed Mubarak, chairman of Etihad Aviation Group.

“Etihad is a force in global aviation that must continue to adapt and evolve on its own and with industry partners. It is an economic and employment engine for the UAE and the region,” Douglas commented.

In May, the Etihad Aviation Group announced several managerial changes, with management appointing Ray Gammell as interim CEO to replace James Hogan, president and Group CEO, who left his position in July.
