UAE – Mubasher: The UAE’s national carrier, Etihad Airways, has received a special reception at Jeddah’s new Terminal 1, becoming the first airliner to operate flights to the new terminal after the inaugural flight operated on the airlines’ Dreamliner with the distinctive Saudi Arabia livery.

Etihad Airways flights to Jeddah have relocated from the old terminal of King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) to the new terminal (Terminal 1), effective from Monday, 18 November, according to a recent press release.

The reception was attended by the UAE’s general consular, Nasir Al Ketbi, director general of King Abdulaziz Airport, Essam Fouad, as well as the CEO of Saudi Ground Services, Fahd Cynndy, and the director general of Terminal 1 and management from Etihad Airways, Yousef Attiah.

“As Etihad Airways and Saudi Arabian Airlines continue to strengthen their partnership, the new terminal will also provide convenient travel options to our customers, boosting the codeshare connectivity on joint services,” said the chief commercial officer of Etihad Aviation Group, Robin Kamark.
