Etihad ESCO, Seven Tides team up to improve buildings’ energy efficiency

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Etihad Energy Service Company (Etihad ESCO) has partnered with UAE’s property developer Seven Tides to implement energy conversation measures (ECMs), aiming at preserving 13.2 million KWh of electricity and 2.6 million IG of water.

This would lead to curb costs by 14.8% and save about AED 7.3 million annually to the company’s budget, Etihad ESCO said in a statement on Thursday.

The agreement was signed by Ali Al Jassim, the CEO of Etihad ESCO, and Seven Tides’ CEO Abdulla Bin Sulayem during the proceedings of the first day of the ongoing 20th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2018).

“We are glad to equip the private sector with energy conservation measures, thereby helping them cut down consumption, improve efficiency and contribute to the emirate’s efforts, towards the achievement of 30 per cent reduction in energy demand by 2030,” Al Jassim commented.

The cost-cutting measures include taking advantage of the Variable-Frequency Drive (VFD) technology that reduces the amount of fuel consumed per unit of electricity and the installation of the energy-saving LED lights across the properties owned by Seven Tides, the statement highlighted.
