Etihad ESCO eyes AED 210m energy efficiency savings

Dubai – Mubasher: Etihad Energy Service Company (Etihad ESCO), a Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) unit, announced a retrofitting project to enhance Dubai International Airport’s energy efficiency.

Etihad ESCO will collaborate with Siemens Tech and Smart4Power to execute a seven-year project, which includes the implementation of energy efficiency measures at Terminals 1, 2, and 3, as well as Concourse B, the company said in a statement.

The new project is set to reduce 23% of the annual energy bill and save about AED 210 million ($57.18 million), Etihad ESCO revealed.

“The new partnership with Siemens and Smart4Power for retrofitting program at Dubai International Airport terminals further accelerates our journey towards achieving 30% energy demand reduction by 2030 in Dubai,” said Ali Al Jassim, Etihad ESCO’s CEO.

"Etihad ESCO is currently retrofitting over 30,000 buildings in the Emirate to ensure energy efficiency and manage rising energy demand,” Al Jassim concluded.
