UAE – Mubasher: Etihad Airways has signed a partnership agreement with AccesRail, an international provider of air-rail intermodal solutions, to allow its customers to book train and coach tickets in Europe via Etihad online booking platform.
Under the partnership, Etihad guests will be connected from their international flights to seven rail routes in Germany, 16 destinations in the UK, and 28 cities across Italy, according to a press release on Tuesday.
However, connecting customers to 28 cities in Italy on the primary rail operator, Trenitalia, is subject to final government approval.
Commenting on the partnership, Etihad Airways Vice President Alliances and Partnerships, Ali Saleh, said: "This is a tremendous product, which provides convenient rail or coach connections at some of our key gateways in Europe."
The Vice President Business Development of AccesRail, Andrew Popescu, remarked: "Through this enhanced AccesRail partnership, Etihad will be able, now and in the future, to offer its customers more destinations and more possibilities."
It is noteworthy to mention that previously, Etihad Airways has entered a similar agreement with France’s SNCF to offer codeshare services to 20 destinations on the French domestic rail network from the airline’s Paris gateway.
