Dubai – Mubasher: India's Jet Airways, which is 24% owned by Abu Dhabi's Etihad Airways, has nodded to buy 75 Boeing 737 Max aircraft in an effort to boost its fleet.
The new aircraft will help the Indian carrier keep pace with the growing demand in the world’s major aviation market.
The cost of the purchase order ranges between $7.2 billion to $9.7 billion according to the list prices for the 737 Max narrow-body family, before discounts, a local newspaper reported.
In March, the Indian airline started talks with the international largest plane makers in a bid to increase its fleet with 75 or 100 single-aisle jets, Vinay Dub, CEO of India's Jet Airways, said.
