Etisalat, Aldar drag ADX into red

Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) maintained its downward trend on Monday for the third session in row, weighed down by Etisalat and Aldar Properties.

The general index declined 0.39% or 16.74 points to reach 4,281.52 points.

The real estate sector lost 1.4% after RAK Properties and Aldar Properties slid 9.5% and 0.7% in a row.

Trading volume reached 75 million shares on Monday, compared to 51.6 million shares on Sunday.

Turnover amounted to AED 86.75 million ($23.62 million), compared to AED 51.6 million ($14.05 million).

The telecom sector fell 0.56% after Etisalat retreated 0.56%.

The banks sector declined 0.3%, weighed down by Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) and National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) which decreased 3.6% and 1.25% in a row.

On the flipside, the energy sector added 3.27% after Dana Gas increased 4%.

The consumer staples sector levelled up 1.4% as Agthia Group rose 1.9%.
