Etisalat, NPCC partner to implement AI solutions

Dubai – Mubasher: Emirates Telecommunications Group “Etisalat” on Sunday said that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC), owned by Abu Dhabi's Senaat, a state-owned investor in the emirate's industrial sector.

The partnership entails implementing Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions for remote sensing, real time data, autonomous vehicles, and predictive analytics improving response time with all their consumers, the Abu Dhabi-listed telecom operator said in a statement.

The MoU was signed by Sultan Mohamed Al Dhaheri, general manager, Etisalat Abu Dhabi, and CEO of NPCC Ahmed Salem Al Dhaheri.

Al Dhaheri said that the partnership with NPCC “mirrors Etisalat’s corporate strategy of focusing on 'Driving the digital future’. At Etisalat, we understand the importance of digital transformation in the oil and gas sector. Today, the oil and gas industry has the opportunity to redefine its boundaries through digitalisation.”

NPCC is a leading international EPC contractor, providing engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning services to offshore and onshore oil and gas sectors.

The telecom operator achieved a net profit of AED 6.6 billion ($1.8 billion) after Federal Royalty between January and September 2018, up 2% year-on-year.
