Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Etisalat Telecommunication Group reported a 6% year-on-year increase in its consolidated net profit during the first six months of 2018, recording AED 4.3 billion.
The group’s consolidated revenues grew 4% to AED 26.2 billion in H1-18, compared to the same period in 2017, according to a company statement.
“Etisalat Group’s financial performance of the first half of this year showcased its ability to innovate and lead in the telecom and digital services arena,” Etisalat Group’s chairman Essa Mohamed Al Suwaidi commented.
Etisalat’s subscriber base hit 144 million at the end of June, the Abu Dhabi-listed company’s data showed.
“Etisalat Group’s financial results in the first half of 2018 is an outcome of our sincere efforts to drive growth and generate efficiencies, with an unwavering commitment to key strategic priorities that will enable a digital future,” Etisalat Group’s CEO Saleh Al Abdooli said.
In the second quarter of 2018, Etisalat’s consolidated revenues went up 2% year-on-year to AED 13.1 billion, while the group’s consolidated net profit rose to AED 2.2 billion, 12.4% up from the year-ago period.
Etisalat posted a 5% year-on-year growth in revenues during the first quarter of 2018, registering AED 13.1 billion.
