Etisalat drags ADX down Thursday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The main index of the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) closed in red on Thursday, weighed by leading shares.

The main index shed 0.22% or 9.60 points to 4,397.40 points after the telecommunications sector and its stock Etisalat lost 1.98%.

On the other hand, the real estate sector levelled up 1.34% pushed by Eshraq, Manazel Real Estate, and Aldar properties, which rose 2.67%, 1.96%, and 1.30%, respectively.

The banks sector also grew 0.20% after United Arab Bank (UAB), National Bank of Fujairah (NFB), Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), and Union National Bank (UNB) surged 14.48%, 10.45%, 0.53%, and 0.24%, respectively.

Trading volume was 87.7 million shares, generating AED 171.8 million through 1,211 transactions.

Dana Gas was the most active stock in terms of volume with 29.84 million shares traded, while First Abu Dhabi Bank was the most actively-traded stock in terms of value with AED 62.6 million.
