Etisalat drags ADX down at Tuesday close

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) closed Tuesday’s session in red, dragged by the fall of some blue chips topped by Etisalat.

The main index fell by 0.52% or 22.84 points to the level of 4,391.61 points.

Trading volume decreased to 185.42 million shares from 216.6 million shares exchanged on Monday, while turnover increased to AED 299.99 million from AED 233.18 million.

The industrial sector topped the red list after falling 2.20%, pressured by a fall of 8.71% in Abu Dhabi Ship Building, 4% in RAK Ceramics, 2.90% in Arkan Building Materials, 2.50% in RAK Cement, and 1.29% in JULPHAR.

The consumer staples also shrank 1.06% due to a decrease of 2.17% in Agthia, while the investment sector retreated 1.06% as Waha Capital decreased 1.16%.

The telecom sector dropped 0.57% as Sudatel and Etisalat fell 1.85% and 0.57%, respectively.

Dana Gas was the most active stock as 96.7 million shares were exchanged at AED 68.7 million.
