Etisalat weighs on ADX at Thursday’s close

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) closed Thursday in the red, pressured by the telecom sector’s Etisalat.

The general index slipped 0.12% or 5.46 points to 4,550.93 points.

The telecom sector and its stock Etisalat lost 0.27% each.

On the other hand, the real estate sector grew 0.47% after Eshraq Properties and Aldar gained 1.11% and 0.42%, respectively, while the banks sector edged up 0.07% after Union National Bank (UNB), Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) increased 1.12%, 0.40% and 0.27%, respectively.

In terms of traded volume, a total of 38.72 million shares were exchanged on Thursday versus 48 million on Wednesday, while turnover remained technically unchanged at AED 75.27 million.

RAK Properties led in terms of traded volume with 15.67 million shares, while ADCB was the value leader with AED 15.79 million.
