European Commission to boost Egypt's SMEs

Cairo - Mubasher: In line with distinguished relations between the EU and Egypt, the Minister of International Cooperation Sahar Nasr received a delegation from the European Commission.

Both sides discussed the means of cooperation within the framework of the partnership priorities according to Egyptians’ needs and government’s priorities. Officials also tackled several topics, topped by social stability, increasing support to SMEs, governance and institutional and economic reform.

Both sides further discussed the problem of migration and the possible means for combating illicit migration, human smuggling and human trafficking as well as seeking to find solutions for the main social and economic reasons of this phenomenon through providing youth with job opportunities, promoting their skills, enhancing entrepreneurship and building institutional capacities.

Both sides agreed to proceed forward to overcome all obstacles that might face the implementation of various projects within the framework of cooperation areas between Egypt and the EU, besides exploring new means of future cooperation. In this regard, the delegation reiterated its keenness on supporting Egypt’s development efforts.
