European stocks rise on US jobs data

Mubasher: European stock markets saw a bullish performance on Thursday on the back of bumper US jobs data announced for June.

The US unemployment rate grew slightly more than expected to 4.9% in June, while nonfarm payrolls rose by a seasonally adjusted 287,000.

Britain’s FTSE 100 index rose 0.87% or 56.85 points to reach 6,590.64 points.

The French CAC index increased 1.77% or 72.83 points to 4,190.68 points, while the German DAX index gained 2.24% or 210.88 points to 9,629.66 points.

The Stoxx Europe 600 index advanced 1.62% or 5.23 points to 327.35 points.
