Riyadh – Mubasher: Remittances by expatriates living in Saudi Arabia rose by 18.8% year-on-year to SAR 12.8 billion ($3.41 billion) in February from SAR 10.8 billion ($2.88 billion).
Month-on-month, remittances grew 23% from SAR 10.4 billion, data released by the Saudi Monetary Authority (SAMA) showed.
Meanwhile, money transfers by Saudis surged 51% to SAR 6.3 billion in February from SAR 4.1 billion in the same period of 2016.
For the full-year 2017, expats residing in Saudi Arabia registered SAR 141.7 billion in remittances, a decrease of 6.7% from SAR 151.9 billion recorded in 2016, previous data showed.
