Riyadh – Mubasher: Remittances from expatriates in Saudi Arabia registered a 0.4% increase in March 2018, compared to the same month a year earlier.
Remittances rose to SAR 12.8 billion in the third month of 2018, from SAR 12.7 billion in the comparative period of 2017, according to a monthly bulletin of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA).
Meanwhile, money transfers by Saudis grew 40.6% to SAR 6.3 billion in March, compared to SAR 4.5 billion in the same month a year before.
Since the beginning of 2018, the Saudi Labor and Social Development Ministry started to raise returns between SAR 300 and SAR 400 from expatriates that are working in the Saudi private sector.
