Dubai – Mubasher: Remittances of expatriate workers in the UAE grew 2% to AED 164 billion in 2017, compared to AED 160.8 billion a year earlier, according to estimates made by some banking experts.
The growth in workers’ remittances can be attributed to the increase in both the UAE’s dirham exchange rates and incomes in the country, Al-Bayan newspaper reported.
Remittances registered AED 121.1 billion during the first nine months of 2017, a report by the UAE’s central bank showed.
