Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Expats remittances from those living in the UAE increased by 7.7% year-on-year to AED 39.9 billion ($10.86 billion) during the fourth quarter of 2018.
Up to AED 9.5 billion of the remittances were transferred through banks, while a total of AED 30.4 billion were transferred through money exchange companies, according to a recent report released by the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE).
Indians ranked first in terms of the value of their remittances, making up 34.2% of the total in Q4-18.
Meanwhile, Pakistanis and Filipinos came in second and third with 9.4% and 7.2%, respectively.
