Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Remittances from expatriates living in the UAE surged 17.4% year-on-year to AED 43.5 billion ($11.84 billion) in the first quarter of 2018.
Indians ranked first in terms of the value of their remittances with AED 36.7 billion in Q1-18, according to a report released by the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE).
Meanwhile, Pakistanis and Filipinos came in second and third with total remittances of AED 8.8 billion and AED 6.9 billion, respectively.
