Dubai - Mubasher: The vice president of development, real estate, and delivery at Expo 2020 Dubai, Ahmed Al Khatib, said on Monday that all of the exhibition construction work will be completed by October 2019.
The deadline will allow time needed for testing all the special buildings and utilities before the event, Al Khatib added.
Al Khatib also noted that the infrastructure work began nine months ago, with the main contractor chosen in a AED 2.2 billion tender set to complete it before the end of 2017.
Al Khatib expects three power stations to be completed and begin operating during this year.
Land lots will be delivered to the participating countries in April 2018, he added, noting that logistic support areas will include a residential village that is currently under construction.
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has reached an advanced stage in the construction of the Dubai Metro line that will reach the Expo site.
