FAB drives ADX to June 2016 high on Tuesday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) closed Tuesday in the green, rising to its highest level since June 2016 on the back of strong gains in the telecoms and banks sectors.

The general index surged 2.68% or 128.07 points to close at 4,898.16 points.

Turnover amounted to AED 882.147 million after 101.628 million shares changed hands through 2,829 transactions.

The telecom sector and its stock Etisalat gained 3.37% each, while the banks sector grew 3.12%after First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) jumped 3.68%, making up 77% of the ADX’s total turnover with AED 678.582 million.

On the other hand, the investment sector shed 1.66% after Waha Capital decreased 1.79%, while the real estate sector slipped 0.13% after RAK Properties lost 1.96% and Manazel fell 1.25%.

National Bank of Fujairah topped the ADX’s risers, soaring 15%, whereas Commercial Bank International (CBI) led losers, sliding 9.32%.
