Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) on Sunday announced the appointment of Paul Hartwell as chief executive officer (CEO) for the bank’s UK operations. The appointment is pending regulatory approvals.
Prior to joining FAB, Hartwell was CEO of the British Arab Commercial Bank (BACB) and before that CEO of Mitsubishi UFJ Securities. During his 30 years in the banking sector, Hartwell has held other titles such as chief risk officer and chief operating officer in Standard Bank, Barclays and West LB, FAB said in a statement.
“With his vast experience in the banking sector, and in the areas which our UK operations particularly focus on, we believe that [Hartwell] will play a key role in driving our operations and in growing our business,” stated FAB Group CEO Abdulhamid Saeed.
