FAB refunds AED 4m fees to merchants amid COVID-19

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) has refunded around AED 4 million to merchants as part of Abu Dhabi's economic stimulus packages to mitigate the coronavirus (COVID-19) economic impact.

This step has allowed small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to recover 50% of merchant credit card processing fees charged from April to June 2020, according to a press release on Thursday.

More than 6,000 clients at FAB will benefit from this decision.

It is noteworthy to mention that in the first half (H1) of 2020, the bank's net profits attributable to the shareholders decreased by 24% to AED 4.819 billion from AED 6.327 billion in the same half of 2019.
