Cairo-Mubasher: Khalid Hanafi, Egypt’s minister of supply and internal trade, said he reached an agreement with the exchange division of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC), to set a unified rate for the US dollar on a daily basis.
Hanafi added that the ministry coordinated with the exchange companies to prevent speculations on the dollar and help stabilise it through informing the central bank and mass media of the unified prices on a daily basis.
Mohammed Al-Abyad, head of the exchange division, called for establishing an interbank among banks and brokerage companies which reach 111, to prevent currency smuggling.
Al-Abyad also called upon the central bank to provide each exchange company with dollars on a daily or weekly basis, in addition to fighting non-official exchange houses.
