FGB, Asmak push ADX higher Thursday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw a positive performance on Thursday, amid the growth of trading on First Gulf Bank (FGB) and Asmak.

The general index rose 0.31% or 14.29 points to reach 4,601.96 points.

Trading volume reached 169.83 million shares on Thursday, compared to 159.62 million shares on Wednesday. Turnover amounted to AED 293.16 million, compared to AED 104.87 million.

The industrial sector topped gainers with a 3% increase as Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries (Julphar) grew 8.06%.

The real estate sector rose 0.40% as RAK Properties and Aldar Properties advanced 1.54% and 0.4% respectively.

The telecom sector climbed 0.27% after Etisalat went up 0.27%.

FGB was the value leader after generating AED 53.96 million, followed by Asmak which gained AED 49.06 million.
