Mubasher: The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) is considering the possibility of increasing the size of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar to 48 teams, FIFA President Gianni Infantino said.
At 13th edition of the Dubai International Sports Conference held on Tuesday, Infantino explained that the world governing body’s was also mulling over an idea that Qatar’s Gulf neighbours might be co-hosts of the 2022 World Cup.
Infantino previously stated that there were talks with Qatar over the possibility of holding some of the 2022 World Cup matches in neighbours of the world's richest country per capita, noting that the final decision will be announced next March.
