Dubai – Mubasher: The UAE’s Federal Tax Authority (FTA) on Monday announced that valued-added tax (VAT) will be levied at zero-rate on flight tickets, according to Emarat Al Youm newspaper.
Sectors subject to zero-tax pay the VAT and then recover it from the government without passing to customers.
The FTA stated that local transportations will be exempted from the VAT, Emarat Al Youm reported.
The tax authority revealed in an earlier statement that the VAT will be levied in the UAE at 5% as of 1 January 2018.
