Mubasher: The main index of the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) rose 0.48% or 26.73 points to 5,623.41 points on Tuesday.
The financial sector gained 0.87%, led by Al Madina Takaful which increased 3.2% and Bank Muscat which went up 3.08%.
Al Anwar Holdings led in terms of trading volume and value with 4.64 million shares exchanged at OMR 994,760. Its stock ended Tuesday up 0.94%.
On the other hand, the industry sector slid 0.31% as Asaffa Foods retreated 9.5% and Oman Cement tumbled 4.38%.
The services sector shed 0.14% as Oman Oil Marketing declined 2.35% and Al Batinah Power dropped 1.64%.
Traded volume decreased to 24.9 million shares on Tuesday against 30.87 million shares on Monday, as liquidity went down to OMR 4.39 million against OMR 6.29 million.
