Doha – Mubasher: Gulf International Services Company said Monday that a fire broke out in an onshore drilling rig that belongs to its subsidiary Gulf Drilling International.
The fire took place while the platform was being processed to move to another worksite, and was put out by fire-fighters and QP Emergency Services, according to a bourse filing.
The accident left six personnel injured, most of them discharged after receiving treatment.
The rig GDI-3 was moved to another location where it was repaired and put into service again, the statement added.
The Qatar-listed company’s stock kicked off today’s trading with a fall of 1.83% to QAR 37.5 ($10.30) as 645,200 shares were traded at QAR 24 million ($6.59 million).
