Riyadh - Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s citizens and residents will be allowed to perform Umrah starting as of Sunday, 4 October, at a 30% capacity.
In September, the kingdom issued an approval to gradually resume the Umrah service through four stages, in line with the coronavirus (COVID-19) precautionary measures.
The first stage of resuming Umrah will witness small numbers of performers that do not exceed 6,000 pilgrims per day. Each batch will be allocated only three hours to complete the Umrah rituals, state-run Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
Last week, the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah launched the “Eatmarna” mobile application that enables pilgrims to issue Umrah permits as per the capacity approved by relevant authorities.
