Mubasher: The US economy growth topped expectations during the third quarter of 2017 on the back of government and consumer spending.
The Commerce Department announced on Friday the first reading on gross domestic product (GDP), which rose 3% in the three-month period ended September, versus 3.1% in Q2-17.
However, analysts were forecasting the US GDP to grow 2.6% in Q3-17.
Growth in consumer spending stood at 2.4% rate following, versus 3.3% in Q2-17.
