Fitch affirms Islamic Development Bank’s credit rating

Mubasher: Fitch Rating Agency has affirmed Islamic Development Bank’s (IDB) credit rating at ‘AAA’, with a ‘Stable’ outlook for the 10th year in a row, according to an issued statement. 

The international rating agency has affirmed IDB’s credit certificates at ‘AAA’ on 23 June, the statement added.

Fitch said that IDB’s capital is considered the strongest among multilateral development banks. Meanwhile, the rating will enhance the bank’s financial capability in meeting its development commitments as well as its pioneering role in developing the Islamic financial industry.

President of IDB Muhammad Ali reaffirmed the commitment to exert the utmost efforts to achieve the bank’s vision until 2020.
